There are many lakes around Orlando. Technically the only difference between a pond and a lake is a commonly accepted name. It helps if a governing body will refer to it by name. Some of the most desirable lakefront properties are no doubt on the Butler Chain of Lakes. The Butler chain includes 13 lakes that are located in the Windermere area which is southwest of Orlando. It is common to pay one million dollars for most homes on the lakes. All of the lakes are interconnected via traversable channels and spring fed. Many celebrities and wealthy people flock to these lakes because of the associated golf courses and Windermere Lifestyle.
There are countless other lakes in Orange County and several you have probably heard of. Lake Apopka is the largest lake in the area and has miles of shoreline It is probably the most economical lake to live on. There have recently been several lakefront communities spring up in Winter Garden around lake Apopka.
By far the newest and trendiest communities in central Florida that feature lakefront properties would be the Hamlin’s area of Winter Garden. Lake Hancock is the largest of the lakes there and there are many communities surrounding it with lakefront homes. This is one of the more beautiful areas which you can live in a Lakefront home for under one million dollars. Not to mention the vast amounts of new shops, stores, waterfront restaurants and the luxurious movie theater which is being built there.
