All of these are actually located inside of the Bay Hill entrances. Inside is Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club and Lodge which includes the golf course. Bay Hill is located on the Northeastern shore of Lake Tibet and its’ entrances are on the Western side of South Apopka Vineland Road.Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club. The initial construction began on this course in 1960 and the first golf was played on the course in 1961. The Original architect was a gentleman named Dick Wilson. Dick Wilson also designed 4 other well-known courses in Florida and over 60 courses during his career.Two very notable things happened in this area in 1965. Walt Disney purchased the 27,000 acres of land he would need for what most of us call Disneyland and Arnold Palmer played in a tournament at Bay Hill. After that he decided he wanted to own it. In 1970 Arnold took out a 5-year lease on Bay Hill with an option to buy. He bought the course in 1975 and it began to evolve into what it is today. In the summer of 2009 Arnold Palmer and his company redesigned the entire course increasing it to 7,196 yards and from a Par 71 to a Par 72.
The Bay Hill Club has three dining rooms, a complete spa, salon and fitness center, 6 tennis courts with coaching available and a complete marina that even includes fishing and sightseeing on the Butler Chain of Lakes.
The homes in Bay Hill are divided into subdivisions. This community is huge and the types of homes and home sites vary quite a bit.
These are located on the North side of the Marina and tennis courts on Masters Blvd. Directly across the street from the Apartments is the Bay Hill Club. There is a sign marking the Bay Hill Apartments. It is a small rock wall and says Bay Hill Condominiums.
The condominiums range in size from 1,498 sf. to 3,600 sf. They were built in 1971 immediately after Arnold Palmer took out his 5-year lease with the option to buy. People love this course and apparently love these condos because they rarely sell. In the last 6 years only 18 have sold and most of them were cash purchases. Some of the condos overlook the marina and have stunning views. Combine that with the amenities and the area, Bay Hill Condos are tough to beat.
This is a small group of luxury homes on Bay Hill Boulevard and Harbour Town Court. These are larger homes than the average Bay Hill homes for sale and some of them are next to the actual course. Across Bay Hill Blvd. is the children’s playground near the entrance.
These homes range in size from 2,559 sf. to 7,437 sf. They rarely sell because there are so few of them and they have a premium location both near the course and near the exit onto South Apopka Vineland Road.
These are condos that were built after the Bay Hill Condominiums. The section which is on the North of the Bay Hill Condominiums was built in 1979. In 1988 the section on the South side of Bay Hill Condominiums was built and it has the actual boat ramp etc. There are not very many of these and they rarely come up for sale. Buyer approval is required and they come with boat slips etc. If you are interested contact us and we can research it privately for you. There could be some available for sale but not listed.
This is a subdivision of mostly ranch style homes that are mingled in with Bay Hill subdivision homes. Bayview can be found by taking the Bay Hill Blvd exit off of South Apopka Vineland Road and then taking your first left onto Indian Meadow Street. The homes in Bayview range in size from 2,278 sf. to 6,650 sf of living space. The homes also seem to have a little more yard than many homes in this area. The community was built mostly between 1983 to 1988. Only 3 of these homes sell per year. There are over 60 of them and the community is very stable.
If you are looking for one of the nicer areas of Bay Hill this should be on your shortlist. It is part of Bay Hill but close to the exit and the homes are cannot see the course but have the benefits of it..
Bay Hill has lakefront homes on Lake Tibet all of the way South to Bentley Park and all of the Way North to Osprey Isle Ln. and the Emerson Pointe community. There are approximately 100 lakefront homes on this portion of Lake Tibet. That includes the homes on Bay Point Dr. which is a gated section. Bay Point Dr. is the most exclusive portion of Bay Hill.
The golf course has approximately 175 homes that face it with quite a few more which can view the course. There are 5 large ponds on the course which provide both water view and golf course view to numerous homes. Bay Hill Village has 22 homes overlooking the course but it is a separate gated subdivision on South Apopka Vineland Road.
The traditional single-family homes in Bay Hill range in size from approximately 1,600 sf. to 10,000 sf. Most of the homes were built starting back in 1970 when Arnold took out his lease. Many of the homes have been completed much more recently because of the evolution of the course. There are many homes that have been completed since 2000 and even a couple in 2017. Due to the size of Bay Hill normally 51 homes sell every year. That is almost one per week and gives a great indicator of the size of this community.
As relaxing and as beautiful of a community as this is you will eventually wonder out into the local area. There are great restaurants at The Bay Hill Club but there are definitely others nearby. If you turn South on South Apopka Vineland Rd. it is only 1 mile to Dr. Phillips famous Restaurant Row. When you finish dining you can spend hours wondering through the many shops and boutiques in Dr. Phillips.
North on South Apopka Vineland Road is the Grove and the Shoppes at Windermere. These two locations will possibly be where you make supermarket trips. There is both a Publix and a Walmart Fresh Market there. There are also several good restaurants, some shops and the area’s best LA Fitness Club.
