Disney is an incredible place and this is one of the best times of the year to visit. Several years ago, we visited Disney for our first Disney Christmas Parade. We loved it.
For those of us who may not always be a fan of really big crowds this is a great time of year. For those who enjoy a cool day or evening to walk around the parks this is it. There will be plenty to look at and see at the parks. The decorations and colorful people you would expect to see will all be there. You just won’t sweat as much, the restaurants will have shorter lines and so will the rides.
The parade itself is full on Disney. Think Macy’s but on a smaller scale and with all of the characters we grew up with. We ran into no rude people, parking was easier and the Christmas lights at Disney are far better than the ones in your neighborhood. The castle actually looks as magnificent as it does on all of the cards and photos you have seen. It must take an army to do all of that lighting. I can only imagine the power bill. But when it breaks down to buying all of the smiling faces, worth it.
This year we have a wedding to attend and our children have all grown and left us. I still think there is a chance we will sneak down there for the parade. After riding the rides for as long as we have been patrons of Disney I will have to admit the sights and feel of the park is what draws me now. That and the look on our grand daughter’s face when she experiences the smiling happy characters who seem so excited to see her. If you have never experienced the Christmas festivities, check them out. Disney during Christmas is definitely worth it.
